Announcing the Obvious: Dead

Sun Nov 2, 2008, 7:10 PM
  • Mood: Thanks
BOTTOM LINE:
I'm leaving DA. Actually, I left a long time ago, and I'm telling you that the odds of me coming back are less than Matsuda being Kira according to L. My art is staying. My favs are staying. Everything is staying just as it was, except for me. I may fav art every now and then and if you're lucky you'll get a comment out of me. I gotta admit, if you're reading this, you are probably a really cool person, especially if you read all of it.

No, I'm not physically dead. I'm :XD:
There's just...a year ago I'd say I didn't have time for DA. That's still the same, except I longer even feel like coming here.

My page has been dead for months. The last journal was in July. And then may before that. As a matter of fact, I think I left just shortly after DA's new design was put out. It's pretty nice, I gotta say. I'm not leaving because of it.

I....I must admit, I've been pleasantly surprised with the comments and favs I've gotten. 41 in activity and 19 favs. That's like, five times more than what I thought it would be after 4 months.

What happened almost 1 year ago?
Steve, on of my high school friends, committed suicide sometime in October 2007. I don't have the exact date. He was a Christian from a great Christian family, a great and funny guy, and as far as I know there was absolutely nothing that could've led him to it. His parents are among the greatest people I've ever met. Then, in early December they invited all of Steve's friends over for the day that would've been his birthday. We all got to know them and Steve better. And as we left, they said "If you ever need anything, someone to talk to or whatever you're always welcome here."

Then, almost exactly a week from that, on December 17, 2007. My father committed suicide. For him, I had seen it coming somewhat. I predicted that with all the problems he had with his job and his really poor choice of a new wife, that he would somewhere down the line be driven to suicide. But I thought that would've been years down the line, like 5 at least.

For a while I was....uncomfortable with the fact that I never shed a tear for either of them. I felt pretty down, though. For a long time, I had hated my father. Wished he was never around. But in the months before he died, I came to accept him for who he was. I did come to love him, forgive him, ignore the terrible mistakes he had made with his families. It didn't solve all his problems, though. I was at peace with him. And, like they offered, Steve's parents were right there. It felt so good to have them. I made it through, and with no loss of myself or who I am.

WHERE I AM TODAY.
I gotta confess, if I had two brain cells devoted to concentration I would be working on an English essay due in two days. And immediately after typing that, I took a 10 minute break to watch Family Guy. You see what I'm talking about? ^^;
Anyway, I'm in college now. University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Roomate's my best friend. Got a new laptop that can actually do things. I'm studying to be an English major....I guess? ^^; Classes are going....better than high school classes (That doesn't necessarily mean good).

I've been watching Death Note a second time around, Azumanga Daioh (50% hilarious, 50% cute, all good), Fate/Stay Night (which is definitely a must-see anime), and Lost and Gurren Lagann on Sci-Fi. Also, I watched a few episodes of Walker Texas Ranger and Law and Order. They are actually pretty good. I know understand why people make Chuck Norris jokes: he's live action Dragonball Z without energy blasts and Super Saiyan. Law and Order is good, but like Death Note it's only good if you pay attention a lot. Yeah, I never watched Lost until like a month ago. And I hate myself for not catching it when it was all the rage. At least I get a 4-hour block of it every week. Playing Xbox 360, Halo 3, Elder Scrolls Oblivion, Assassin's Creed, and just finished Grand Theft Auto IV and Bioshock (every acheivement except Brass Balls). Also Spore (my first PC game. Risk II doesn't f***ing count). Played the demo for Mirror's Egde and I want to buy or acquire it sometime in the future. My Wii and my DS are collecting dust. The PS2 not so much but it's well on its way after my roomate finished .hack//GU and moved onto Soul Calibur IV.

I had to leave certain things behing moving from Omaha to Lincoln. My family moved to a new house almost exactly a week after I moved to college so it was one hell of a departure. My girlfriend and I went to separate colleges, as we knew from the beginning. We went our different ways and ended on pretty good terms. No new girlfriend yet, but that's fine for now. I'm just hoping it doesn't take another 17 years to find one, though. :slow: Durrrr, okay.

My job with Gamestop had to end with the move, as the location out here doesn't have any open positions. I got a nice 2 foot illuminated PS2 light out of it, though. It's pretty much the coolest unique item in my possession. Anyway, my new job is conducting telephone surveys. The project they start everyone out on is the hardest, for Cox Communications where I ask them pretty much everything conceivable about cable, internet, and telephone stuff and this stupid thing is a survey over telephone for 30-40 minutes. Fortunately, the State Fair, Funeral Home, and Home Energy surveys they're putting me on are much shorter. Yeah, funeral home surveys by random telephone number. How fun is that, huh? To make it funnier, I found out my name is Anglo-Saxon for TERROR!!! [link] . "Hi, Terror here calling you about funeral homes." I'd say (compared to Gamestop), less interesting, less funny, easier, pays more, had VERY flexible hours setting my own schedule, and has me sitting at a computer with a headset for four hours every shift (which is close to what I do anyway).

GOODBYE
Well guys, it's been fun. If you still think anything of me, I hope you liked me a little. Thought I was a little cool. If you've read all this, I'd say you're cool too. And maybe even if you didn't.

I feel very happy with my life. It's had its bumps here and there, but so has everyone's. I haven't stopped writing stories and they haven't stopped getting better. I like where my life is, and where it's going doesn't look too bad either. I look at life very positively. I hope you guys do too,

I wish you all the best. Well, I'm off to do something productive.....hopefully. AAAAAND therin lies my positive attitude! :XD: ^^; see you guys.

Calling Zelda and Sonic artists/fans!

  • Reading: I just finished And Then There Were None
  • Watching: Mid-day Spike TV, maybe CSI

You know Sonic Unleashed, right? In it, Sonic gets some weird mutation and becomes a werewolf.

Would somebody kindly draw Midna riding an annoyed Werewolf Sonic in a fashion that pokes fun at the situation? (Extra points if you mention Sega copying off of Nintendo)

Guess who MIGHT be back for the 100th time?

I'm back online for a bit now. By "online", I mean using the computer more than a video game system. By "online", I mean visiting all the sites I belong to.

What I'm probably going to do is convert my DA journals into my "center". The place where I put valuable bookmarks. The place where I post updates on what videos I'm making. It is basically my center for announcements.

But that also means something else. LISTEN UP, DA FRIENDS. I've been away so long, I only remember a few of my friends. Let me see if I can get this right... :iconfyrelinx:....:iconfantasycritter171:....:iconiloveteentitans8:....:iconkasarawolf:.....:iconlibis:....:iconneomordiki:, even though he's never on,....:iconpowerwalrus:, ....:iconspoonzmeister:.....:iconsylviaviridian:....:icontipsymcboozerton:....:iconzeldaman7:....and, if I remember right, :iconxemnaslfsolidor: changed to :iconvardonir:

If I missed somebody on that list, please inform me. Or if you're kinda and want to be added, just send me a holler.

In other news, I've graduated High School. W00t. Going off to college. University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

My computer has a memory capacity of 12 GB. Booo. BUT...I'm probably getting a better one before I go off to college. Right now I'm clearing up space so I can start making AMVs again. Plus, I have to clean up the journals here too. Geez....this is a lot of work.

So, anyway. This is going to be my LAST JOURNAL speaking exclusively to DA folk. If my calculations are correct, that is. The next will speak to DA, to Youtube, to Gaia, to Myspace. To everyone. I'll see you guys around.

New pictures, a story, Xbox Live, Pokemon

Sun May 25, 2008, 2:34 PM
  • Mood: Neutral
  • Listening to: The Godfather Theme
  • Reading: I just finished And Then There Were None
  • Watching: The fugly citizens of Tamriel (Oblivion)
  • Playing: Oblivion, or GTA IV or Brawl
  • Eating: Papa Johns, if I'm lucky
  • Drinking: Do the Dew! (but diet now...;_;)
Uh yep. I' submitting some stuff. I finally got an actual legit camera instead of my cell phone. But there's still a lot of cell phone pics I still want to upload. And when I'm done with them, I've got a fanfiction of - surprise! - Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion I swear, I must've racked up 120 hours by now from playing two files.

The first Oblivion fanfiction is titled "The Dark Gift". Now, anyone who has gotten to the middle of the Dark Brotherhood quests knows the Dark Gift is becoming a vampire. What's so special? This story is non-action. I doubt you can guess where this is going. If you like Oblivion or just plain vampires, check it out when I've submitted it.

But wait! I said "first Oblivion fanfiction". That means there's more?! I haven't finalized the idea yet, but until further notice it's called "Cyrodiilic Masters". It's about the conflict between two characters (which are actually the names of my two chars in the game). The first account was Fervor, a male Khajiit thief that becomes Listener for the Dark Brotherhood, the Second Gray Fox, and a vampire. He lives across several homes, eventually ending up in the downloadable expansion Vile Lair, a.k.a. Deepscorn Hollow. The second is Imilia, a Breton witch that becomes Grand Champion of the Arena, Arch-Mage of the Mage's Guild, and Guildmaster of the Fighter's Guild. She lives at first with her father, then the Wizard's Tower expansion, Frostcrag Spire. One Evil. One Good. All of Cyrodiil will watch as the story culminates in the final battle between the two most famous Guildmasters ever. And it is also an alternate ending to my long-running main work, Kingdom of Scions. I know it sounds weird, considering I have only barely started on it and I'm already making a sequel, but.....I guess that's how I roll. However, it will not contain spoilers from KoS, just Oblivion itself.

Oh, and my Bioshock Project is on hold until I get addicted to it again. But it's not cancelled.

However, Pokemon Rebirth Edition is cancelled.....for me anyway. :iconelreo758: can't contain the excitement he had for it and has requested that he be allowed to complete the series, picking up where I left off. I wish him the best of luck.

Bioshock? Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion? A few mentions of Halo 3? It doesn't take a genius to figure out what's going on here! That's right! I have an XBOX 360! My gamertag is Crose Buhrn and that is with a space in between them. Unfortunately, I am currently addicted to Oblivion, which is a single-player game. I also have Bioshock, Halo 3, Orange Box (to be honest, I only care about Portal), Grand Theft Auto IV, and Assassin's Creed. Oh, and on that last one, that's the only one I haven't gotten to play too much yet. I mean, these are all new games to me and I just haven't gotten to that one yet.

No, I hate mudkips with a passion.

Tue Apr 1, 2008, 4:35 AM
  • Mood: Neutral
  • Listening to: This is your life - Switchfoot
  • Watching: Death Note, Bleach
  • Playing: SSBB, Halo 3 and other 360 games
  • Eating: Papa Johns, if I'm lucky
  • Drinking: Do the Dew! (but diet now...;_;)
Ok, seriously. What's going on? Everyone has the mudkip avatar and can't change it. Either system maintenance has gone evil, or someone's attacked DA. Stephen Colbert gives a wag of the finger to whoever's responsible.

And where did the "so I herd u liek mudkips" joke come from? I see it everywhere (especially now) and I don't get it. It's not funny. What is the origin of this?

From here on out, I renounce all fandom related to mudkips and other crappy Pokemon emerging in the Ruby/Sapphire and Diamond/Pearl eras. Renounce. As in, I want them to go to hell.

Well boyo....on to other things. I'm going to go superfast and say a lot of things in a small amount of space without very many details.

And now Olly Williams with the report on SSL (which means it will be 3rd person):

"SSL got game! Xbox 360! Gamertag: Crose Buhrn (yeah, with a space in the middle)! Don't abuse it! Only has Halo 3! Rents other 360 games! He got the Mongoose splatter acheivement! He Rent and beat Mass Effect in 38 hours with all sidequests but one small one completed! Played most of Bioshock! He now addicted to both! Bioshock music video coming to youtube! Short Mass Effect comic coming to DA! Also into Death Note and Bleach! He pissed that DN episodes are no longer anywhere on Youtube!

"SSL got three jobs now! Gamestop! Church janitor! Drives for brother's best friend! Bought soundtrack for 300! Awesome! His bro was caught breaking and entering! It was a a kid's house! The kid they consider as "The dork kid!" SSL's bro says he didn't do anything other than just be there. His friends spray painted and peed on the kid's bed! Neighbors called the cops! SSL's brother in omni-trouble!

SSL got a girlfriend! Giga Supernatural fangirl! Mummyluvr on youtube! She made the Supernatural Charlie the Unicorn parody [link]=P6DjeK2xIZc ! The actors themselves talked about it [link] Now she's getting thousands of favs! Went on several dates and prom with her! Jumper's plot and characters sucked! But the action was AWESOME!"

Thank you, Olly.
